The Moeller Soccer Coaching Staff is proud to welcome Niro Wimalasena as the new Technical Director for the program. Effective immediately, Niro will take over the duties of technical direction for the 3 soccer teams, weaving together a commonality style of play from JVB to Varsity. In addition to technical direction, Niro will work along side Coach Welker as a Varsity Assistant Coach on game-days, and cover advanced scouting reports for the varsity team.
Niro has 7 years of coaching experience at Mason under legendary Head Coach Paul Reedy. As a Mason high school player, Niro was the 2007 D1 Cincinnati POY, 2x Co-Conference POY, 1st Team All-State, NSCAA All-Region, Graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was the Class of 2008 Jr. & Sr. Class President. Collegiately, Niro was a NSCAA All-American, NSCAA Colleggiate Scholar All-American and Capital One Academic All-American at Case Western Reserve University. Niro holds the program record with 76 Matches Started. He was a 4x All-UAA Conference Selection, 3x UAA All-Academic Selection and and a 2-Year Captain.
Niro currently lives in Springfield Township and works in Research & Development within P&G's Feminine Care Business Unit.
