Tim HeldVarsity Head Coach-- The 2019 season will be Tim Held’s twelfth as the varsity head baseball coach and 23rd year at Moeller. In Coach Held’s first eleven seasons, the Crusaders have made seven trips to the state final four including the 2009, 2012, 2013 & 2015 State Championships; they also had a record of 278-57 over those eleven seasons.  Coach Held is an eight-time GCL Coach of the Year; the 2009, 2012, 2013 & 2015 City Coach of the Year, the 2009 Bob Sumerel Greater Cincinnati Coach of the Year, the 2010 State Coach of the Year, the 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014 & 2015 Defiance College Alumni Coach of the Year, the 2013 Cincinnati Reds/MSA Sport Coach of the Year, and the 2015 NFHS coach of the year for the state of Ohio.  Coach Held was also selected as the head coach for the East team in the 2015 Perfect Game All American game and an assistant coach for the East team in the 2017 game held in San Diego, CA.
 
Prior to being the head coach, Tim spent six seasons as an assistant with the varsity baseball team under Mike Cameron. He was part of three GCL championships, five sectional championships, four district championships, one regional championship, two city poll championships, one state poll championship, and the 2004 state championship. In addition, three of these teams ended the season nationally ranked.
 
These successes are due to the tremendous talent and hard work put forth by the members of the baseball program. Over the past fifteen years, Coach Held has seen Moeller players go to the American Athletic Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference, Atlantic Sun Conference, Atlantic Ten Conference, Big Ten Conference, Big Twelve Conference, Big East Conference, Conference USA, Horizon League, Mid-American Conference, Missouri Valley Conference, Southeastern Conference and Southern Conference as well as seeing twelve players drafted: Cameron Satterwhite in the 50th round in 2005, Andrew Brackman in the 1st round in 2007, Eric Surkamp in the 6th round in 2008, Tyler Stovall in the 20th round in 2008, Ben Hunter in the 29th round in 2008, Greg Williams in the 31st round in 2008 & 12th round in 2011, Alex Wimmers in the 1st round in 2010, Dan Burkhart in the 10th round in 2010, David Whitehead in the 36th round in 2010 & 34th  round in 2013, Tom Belza in the 43rd round in 2010, Brent Suter in the 31st round in 2012, Riley Mahan in the 40th round in 2014 & 3rd round in 2017, Phillip Diehl in the 27th round in 2016, and Nick Bennett in the 40th round in 2016 and Zach Logue in the 9th round in 2017.
 
Coach Held is a teacher in the mathematics department at Moeller. Tim and his wife, Leslie, reside in Montgomery with their sons, Drew and Alex. They are members of All Saints Parish.
